Turn a Shoe Organizer Into a Vertical Garden

By Larry Hodgson

To make an inexpensive vertical garden, just recycle an old vertical shoe organizer, the type with pockets, and attach it to a wall, preferably in a sunny spot.

Punch a hole in the bottom of each pocket to allow excess water to drain out and fill the pockets with potting soil.

Insert cuttings or young plants of herbs, vegetables, annuals, ground covers, etc., one per pocket, and water.

Soon, you’ll have an extraordinary vertical garden!

Remember that the pockets are small and therefore will dry out quickly, so they’ll require frequent watering.
