GMOs

A genetically modified organism (GMO) is a living organism whose genetic material has been altered by human intervention, including the addition of genes from other plants or even animals. The use of GMOs is controversial for scientific (health and environmental risks, genetic pollution), ethical (change of life) and agro-economic reasons (patents on life, monopolies).
